Application Best Practices
All online MPH applicants must submit completed applications, including admission to the University of Tennessee Graduate School, by the Department of Public Health deadline to be eligible for review. Submit all application materials online to the University of Tennessee Graduate School Office of Admissions.
Online Master of Public Health applicants who have not first been admitted by the graduate school cannot be reviewed by the Department of Public Health.
MPH applications are not made available to the Department of Public Health until the graduate school has reviewed the file. It typically takes four to eight weeks for your application to be considered complete (including graduate school admission) and eligible for internal review by the Department of Health, so we strongly recommend that you submit your application well ahead of the departmental deadline.
Finally, it is very rare that applications submitted near the departmental deadline are completed on time. Applicants who have not completed their applications by the department deadline will need to revise their expected date of entry to a later semester. Our online admissions team is available to support you and coordinate your application timeline so that you are eligible for review by both the graduate school and Department of Public Health.
